The newest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for celebrating action and madness with equal excitement, all while weaving gripping, socially charged tales. Little surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two creators whose work have embodied all of those things.

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by introducing a different backdrop and ensemble in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

Each game is a take of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of people through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our common irreverent, daring sensibility to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
