Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his public comments.

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had broken down.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

Looking Ahead

He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.

He also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and on a positive run.”
