Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
